Bharat Ratna for sports persons; Sachin in focus

Bharat Ratna is India’s highest civilian award. Bharat Ratna means “Jewel of India” or “Gem of India”.  Bharat Ratna awarded for the highest degrees of national service. 

“Instead of the fields of art, literature, science and public services, now on November 16, government has notified that now the Bharat Ratna covers all fields and it can be awarded in recognition of distinguished performance in any field of human endeavour.

The Centre's decision to modify the eligibility criteria for the Bharat Ratna was really appreciated on Friday.

It will really a great day when any sportsperson is named as an awardee of Bharat Ratna. The hockey legend Dhyan Chand and Sachin Tendulkar are the strong contenders now.

A special thanks to the sports minister for suggesting and recommending a category for sports persons.Not only hockey or cricket but every sports man should get the benefit according to their excellency.
