Parliament session begins today

The winter session of the Parliament begins today. Increase of sugarcane price was the main issue on Parliament today. Thousands of sugarcane farmers from states like UP, Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Karnataka today staged a demonstration in the city to protest the new sugarcane pricing policy of the government and demanded an increase in rocurement prices.

The farmers marched from
Ramlila grounds to Jantar Mantar, a demonstration hotspot in the city. The FRP calculated on the sugarcane price (the minimum rate which mills should pay to the growers) at around Rs 130 per quintal, far less than farmers demand of Rs 280 per quintal.

Long-pending Women's Reservation Bill will also going to discuss in this session and
pass some key reforms Bills pertaining to the insurance and pension fund sector, which will start from thursday and is scheduled till December 23.
